What is Enthusiasm?
- It has been the companion of every success, every worthwhile achievement.
- It’s that extra spark that makes you great and the inspiration to wake up and live.
- It’s the producer of confidence that cries to the world “I have got what it takes” without uttering boastful world.
- It’s the leaping lightning that blasts every obstacle from your path.
- It’s the magnetism of projected energy and the universal language everyone recognizes.
Once internalized it will be reflected in the tone of your voice, your handshake, the sparkle in your eyes, the way you walk, you act and the way people act towards you. It can be caught by anyone, it’s contagious. It means basically: emotion management.
Why do you know so little about Enthusiasm?
Everyone is attracted by genuine enthusiasm genuinely felt and openly expressed. Frequently we confuse it with other things like rugby games, religious services, and political conventions where we see a mass display of exuberance. We can label this: mass hysteria, group hypnosis, or mob reaction in its mildest form. The enthusiasm it is not. This one-shot excitement comes from group reaction and interaction, it’s neither true nor lasting. True enthusiasm is like love, faith, or courage which springs from within, and comes from the heart. It is difficult to hide great sorrow or true love. Its natural expression it must fit your personality. When you master its generation and control you will be amazed at its power. Your enthusiasm will become your trailblazer for you and your ideas. People will drop their all too frequent defences and want to listen and help you.
How can you generate Enthusiasm?
In short: Act enthusiastic. Still, frequently you cannot become enthusiastic about yourself, your family, your company, product or service. Furthermore, you have learnt to suppress it, when you were told to calm down as a child. Through this long habit of inhibition, you cannot show it now. Therefore, if you don’t have enthusiasm, it can be developed as you are born with a strong desire to learn, an inborn curiosity. These are the steps:
